When will the world end?

The Mayans believe that the world will end in the year 2012; This date puts a damper on many peoples plans for life, including mine, seeing how the year 2012 is only in three years. Now the Mayan civilization boomed around 250 AD to 900 AD, about 1100 years ago, these people are known for their intelligence, similar to every civilization except ours, they were exquisite architects; I'm not even going to talk about their astronomy; their writing and literature where superb; and they perfected the calender. The calender part is what i would like to talk about for this short entry; we as a people take the calender for granted because we have always had it, its nothing new to us, and we even have one on our cellphones. Now the Mayans were not the ones who "created" the calender but they sure as hell did make it legit. The most important of these calendars is one with a period of 260 days. This 260-day calendar was prevalent across all Mesoamerican societies, and is of great antiquity (almost certainly the oldest of the calendars). A different form of calendar was used to track longer periods of time, and for the inscription of calender dates (i.e., identifying when one event occurred in relation to others). This form, known as the Long count is based upon the number of elapsed days since a mythological starting-point. Many Maya Long Count inscriptions are supplemented by a Lunar Series, which provides information on the lunar phase and position of the moon in a half-yearly cycle of lunations. In other words, the Mayans were smart as fuck for the type of technology they had.

The belief that the world was going to end in the year 2012 was not just some cool idea that someone came up with to mess with the future generations, this was studied and layed out in a proper excel spreadsheet. Pacal Votan prophecy speaks of the closing of this worlds age cycle on December 21, 2012 AD. As this date approaches, we are collectively in a transsition phase of the old world dying and the new world being born.

December 21, 2012. I have some feelings that the world could end at that date but i do not necessarily believe that the world will fall into its self or there will be a gigantic meator shower or something cosmic. I do believe that human kind will simply kill its self off, if you can look around today and honestly tell me that you believe everything that we are doing in the world is bringing us to the future then i am flat out jealous of your ignorance. Maybe it is not a feeling that i have about the world ending, maybe it is a hope. For me to look at everything my generation is creating makes me sick. The world is revolting and i can not wait until it starts a full out war with human kind.
